HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday, April 15 that the 2020 Bear Paw Marathon happening June 6 is officially canceled.
In a press release, the chamber said they were sad to announce the cancellation, but everyone’s health and safety is their number one priority right now.
A total of 190 runners had signed up for the marathon and 33 of those runners were out-of-state participants.
The chamber said they will be refunding all race entry fees and paid sponsorships by participants.
The chamber also wants to thank everyone who helped with the marathon and wants the public to know they will be looking into having a 2021 marathon, once they re-evaluate conditions this fall.
