HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A man awaiting trial on allegations of forging over $9,000 worth of checks in Havre in January and February 2020, is back in jail after being accused of violating the conditions of his release.
Joshua Glen Reid, who is awaiting a trial on charges of the felonies of theft and forgery by common scheme, is now accused of stealing approximately $1,400 in cash from a truck in a Great Falls Wal-Mart parking lot on April 1st.
Reid is also suspected of stealing two firearms from his father on March 29th.
As per the conditions of his release, Reid was not allowed to leave Hill County without permission with the Court and his probation and parole officer.
Reid is also facing the possibility of having a previously deferred sentence revoked. Reid was sentenced to 60 months suspended after being found guilty of theft by embezzlement in 2017.
That case involved Reid using a Duck Inn company credit card to make unauthorized purchases. He then sold the purchased items, which had a total value of nearly $4,000, to pawn shops.
Court documents filed in Hill County District Court allege Reid violated his release terms of the suspended sentence in a variety of ways, including having tested positive for methamphetamine use seven separate times between December 4th, 2019 and February 11th, 2020.
Reid is also facing a new pending felony charge of failure to register as a sexual or violent offender. No details are available on that charge, although Reid was sentenced to 60 months suspended in 2011 for Partner or Family Member assault.
In addition, Reid is facing new charges of obstruction and criminal mischief in Havre City Court.
Reid remains in the Hill County Detention Center.
