Turner School District Receives Over $10,000 in Grants

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Turner Public Schools has received six grants totaling over $10,000.

Turner Public Schools Superintendent Tony Warren said these funds will benefit everyone.

“It benefits both our staff and students. It puts resources directly in their hands. So, I see it benefiting the entire K-12 student body.”

Warren said he personally writes the grant applications and said it is quite a process but it’s definitely worth it.

“We try and find outside funding sources to help supplement the school funding that we receive…It’s another dollar that our taxpayer’s money can go toward by paying for other needs in the district. So, the outside money from various funding sources is really appreciated. There is really no method or magic to doing this. I am not a professional grant writer by trade by any means. It’s just kind of a moonlighting thing that I do on the side.”

This year, Turner Public Schools received grants from Montana Masonic Foundation, Humanities Montana, Wal-Mart, Triangle Communications, Donors Choose and Montana Office of Public Instruction.
