HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Police Department has provided new details on Saturday evening’s high-speed vehicle pursuit.
A press release says at 6:53 PM Saturday, they received a report of two suspicious vehicles, a white GMC Acadia and black Nissan Altima, on the 1300 block of 3rd Street.
The Acadia was reported driving recklessly and the Nissan, which was believed to have been driven by Jaylen Crazyboy, who has previously had his license revoked, was circling the block.
Officers located the black Nissan moving eastbound in the 700 block of 6th Street. They attempted to stop the vehicle, but it began to accelerate and eluded officers.
The pursuit continued around town for around 12 minutes. At one point near 24th Avenue east, the Nissan accelerated out of a ditch and struck the driver side of the patrol car.
When the pursuit reached the intersection of 1st Street and 8th Avenue, Crazyboy lost control of the vehicle, which had already sustained tire damage. It then struck a curb and a tree at the 100 block of 8th Avenue.
Crazyboy then attempted to run from the scene, but was apprehended and transported to Northern Montana Hospital. Once released from the hospital, Crazyboy was transported to the Hill County Detention Center.
Crazyboy is being held on pending charges that include felony criminal endangerment, driving under the influence, habitual offender, revoked license, and eluding a Peace Officer, and violating the conditions of his release.
Back in May, Crazyboy pleaded guilty to the felonies of theft, theft by common scheme and engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise.
In the plea agreement, which is not final until sentencing, Crazyboy admitted to distributing methamphetamine in February 2019 as “part of a continuing series of two or more criminal violations,” and that he, “committed these violations in concert with at least five other persons, with respect to whom I was in the position of organizer, and from which I gained substantial income or resources.”
Crazyboy posted bail and was released form the Hill County Detention Center prior to the change of plea hearing in May.
Also in the Nissan were 24-year-old Victorri Rosette and 22-year-old Kate Lambourne, both of Havre. Rosette was arrested on a City Court warrant and is being held on $585 bail, while Lambourne was arrested on a probation violation is being held without bail.
