VALLEY COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – A lightning-caused fire in southern Valley County that has burned over 3,000 acres of land is now 90 percent contained.

The Bureau of Land Management says the fire 25 miles south of Glasgow near Fort Peck Lake was initially reported at 1:16 PM on Friday.

It had burned 3,275 acres of primarily grass and shrubs as of Wednesday morning.
