HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to create unique challenges for Montanans, Family Connections wants to let the public know that there are several funding opportunities available for childcare.
Jessaca White, Program Director/Outreach Specialist for Region 6 of Family Connections, says they are offering one-time $4,000 grants to assist with in-home care of children.
“There must be a special circumstance for that care to include any of the following, but not limited to: health or safety concerns, rural or limited access to a licensed childcare provider, need for remote learning support, and/or respite care.”
147 of these grants are available for Region 6, and they will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.
“Please apply. We’re doing everything we can to make sure we are saying yes to all families, because we are aware that there are circumstances where there is help that is needed, and a lot of people aren’t getting this message. So hopefully, this will help. And just apply. If it’s a no, we will give you a call back and we will turn that no into a yes if we are absolutely able to.”
There are no income restrictions for this grant. All funds must be used by the end of the calendar year.
