HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Northern Montana Health Care will be hosting a drive-thru flu shot clinic later this week.
Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator Julianne LaSmith says they usually have an indoor clinic, but had to change things up due to the pandemic.
“We actually did it for the employees last week and it went really well. It’s very smooth. What could make it the easiest for people is if they already have the registration form filled out. They aren’t doing any collecting of funds or anything at the drive through, that will be taken care of later.”
For those without insurance, the high dose vaccine will cost $44, while the regular flu shot costs $28.
Nurses will do a quick interview with those in the drive-thru verify their identity, give them the vaccine, and then they are on their way.
LaSmith says that it is especially critical this year that everyone gets their flu shot.
“Keeping people well, definitely. Compromised immune systems, the mixing of the systems. We want to be able to rule out flu before we start thinking that something may be presented as COVID.”
The clinic will take place on the main floor of the Hospital parking lot this Thursday from 2-7 PM, Friday from 10 AM-4 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM.
There will be a separate line for the administering the vaccine for children under the age of five.
A registration sheet must be completed for everyone getting the vaccine. This is available at www.NMHCare.org. Make sure to wear a mask and wear layers in a way that your shoulders are easily accessible for the nurse.
