
FORT BELKNAP, Mont. (NMB) – After 28 years working at Aaniiih Nakoda College on the Fort Belknap Reservation, President Carole Falcon-Chandler has now retired.
Before serving as the President of the College beginning in 2000, Falcon-Chandler was the Dean of Students starting in 1992.
Falcon-Chandler presided over the College during a period of expansion as well as a name change. The school was known as Fort Belknap College until 2011. She also oversaw the installation of their first baccalaureate program, in which students can earn a bachelor of science degree in Aaniiih Nakoda Ecology.
The College held an honorary retirement ceremony for Falcon-Chandler on Wednesday with limited attendance due to COVID-19.
Falcon-Chandler is being succeeded by her son, Sean Chandler. Chandler was serving as the Dean of Academic Affairs.
