FORT BENTON, Mont. (NMB) – The Fort Benton Police Department wants to alert the public of several recent thefts that have been reported.
A press release says that at 2:43 AM on Thursday morning, authorities observed two suspicious vehicles driving around town. Police were able to stop one of the vehicles and had determined it had been stolen recently in Fort Benton.
During the investigation, several stolen items were located on the suspect and in the vehicle. It is believed that the suspect that was arrested and other suspects had been checking unlocked vehicles in town and taking items.
The investigation is ongoing. Several additional suspects have been identified since Thursday morning, and more details will be released when available.
