HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Montana State University-Northern recently announced that they have received the donation of a trainer engine worth over $100,000.
The donation was provided by Interstate Power Systems (IPS) and will help students in the diesel program continue to learn and train on state-of-the-art equipment.
Northern says that over 250 hours were spent customizing the trainer engine, which was built from the body of a non-functioning semi-truck engine that they had sent to IPS to be customized.
IPS representatives recently trained Northern faculty on the specifics of the engine. These training sessions were recorded and the videos will be used to train students.
