SWEETGRASS, Mont. (NMB) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced the seizure of 240 pounds of cocaine from a commercial vehicle on January 30th at the Port of Sweetgrass.
While conducting outbound inspection operations, CBP Officers encountered a male Canadian citizen driving a commercial truck.
Upon further inspection, Officers discovered boxes containing a total of 240 pounds of cocaine.
In a press release, Sweetgrass Port of Entry Director Jason Greene attributed the successful seizure to his Officer’s training and experience, as well as high-tech tools at their disposal.
The commercial truck driver was arrested. The case has been turned over to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
