HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Arctic Games Ice Fishing Tournament is scheduled to take place this Saturday on Fresno Reservoir.
The entry fee is $25, and there will be a chili feed at Fresno Tavern on Saturday evening. A mandatory rules meeting will take place on Saturday morning at 7:30 AM at Fresno Tavern following the 7 AM registration times.
“The fishing will hopefully start by 8 AM, hopefully, is the plan. Then they’ll be done at 3 PM and come back to the Tavern for a chili feed and to (award) the cash prizes and give out door prizes,” says Organizer Kodi Peterson.
The tournament will be capped at 75 participants, so those still looking to take part are urged to call Peterson at 399-3580 or fill out a form at Fresno Tavern, Strombergs Sinclair, or the Blaine County Journal.
Anglers will be hoping to catch their fair share of walleye, crappie, northern pike, and perch.
The permit to hold the tournament was obtained by the Havre Chamber with the help of Fish, Wildlife and Parks. Others helping out include Walleyes Unlimited and Hill County Search and Rescue.
