Historic Butte Bar Damaged in Fire

BUTTE, Mont. (NMB) – A fire early Friday morning led to the historic M&M bar in uptown Butte being a complete loss.

The Montana Standard reports that there were no injuries, but the roof was destroyed and the rest of the building was charred and gutted.

Firefighters were called to the fire at around 3 AM and it took two hours to get the blaze under control.

A cause of the fire has not been determined.

The M&M opened in 1890 by Sam Martin and William Mosby.
