MSU-Northern Ends On-Campus Mask Mandate

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Montana State University-Northern has announced the end of their on-campus mask mandate, effective immediately.

The decision comes after the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education announced the end of the blanket mask mandate for the Montana University System last Friday. Decisions are now up to each school.

The decision to end the mask mandate at Northern was made by Chancellor Greg Kegel following consultation with the school’s COVID Leadership and Executive Teams.

Those who would like to still wear masks on campus can continue to do so on a voluntary basis.

Dean of Students Corey Kopp, a member of the COVID Leadership Team, says additional COVID-related protocols will be addressed in the coming weeks and months. He says that some requirements may be relaxed or removed, while others could remain in place through the summer and into the fall.
