BILLINGS, Mont. (NMB) – Northern Cheyenne Tribal Councilwoman Silver Little Eagle and her family are speaking out after they say she was seriously injured in an attack on May 16th.
A press release says that Little Eagle suffered severe injuries and had her vehicle and personal belongings stolen.
Her family says she has experienced harassment by the assailants and others since the incident.
Her family is calling for the perpetrators to be prosecuted, saying that this is a painful reminder that native women must be “protected and respected.”
The investigation is ongoing and no further details have been released.
Little Eagle’s family has set up a gofundme to help with medical expenses.
