Online MMIP Database Set to Launch

MISSOULA, Mont. (NMB) – An online database and reporting portal for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons is set to launch within the next few weeks.

The announcement was made by Blackfeet Community College at an event at the University of Montana over the weekend.

The site will catalog every MMIP case in the state, and will give the public the ability to upload photos and information regarding missing persons.

Local law enforcement will be notified of new cases and will provide updates to the reporting party when possible.

As of now, the Blackfeet Reservation and Salish and Kootenai Tribes have announced their participation in the portal. The hope is to have all eight of Montana’s Tribal nations in the portal by the end of the summer.

The website can be found at MMIPMT.COM.
