HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Three people were hospitalized following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Havre on Saturday morning.
The Havre Police and Fire Departments were notified of the crash, which occurred at Stromberg’s Sinclair, just after 2 AM.
Lieutenant Aaron Wittmer says that a 2018 blue Dodge truck was headed eastbound on US 2 when the driver, who was apparently distracted, was unable to negotiate a curb. The vehicle hit a concrete block, flipped over and landed on its top.
All three occupants of the vehicle were transported to Northern Montana Hospital, but Wittmer says none of the injuries were “too severe.”
Fire Chief Mel Paulson added that all three of the vehicle’s occupants were “conscious and alert” at the scene of the crash.
Wittmer says the driver smelled of alcohol and had their blood drawn. Results of the draw are pending, and Wittmer says the driver could be charged with DUI and careless driving.
The vehicle was totaled, and a concrete pillar and sign at Stromberg’s also suffered damage.
Excessive speed is not considered a factor in the crash.
