HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees convened on Tuesday evening for a pair of meetings.
The night began with a special meeting where a series of personnel actions were taken. This included the appointment of Kevin Nettleton as Athletic Director and Assistant High School Principal beginning with the 2021-22 school year.
This will be Nettleton’s first administrative job. He is currently the boys Track and Field Coach at East Helena High School, as well as an Assistant Football Coach and Special Education Teacher.
Current Athletic Director Brian Kessler will be leaving the District to become the Principal at East Helena High School.
Following the special meeting, the Board met for a planning meeting and discussed the budget and incoming COVID relief funds.
Next year’s budget is expected to be very similar to the 2020-21 budget, although individual buildings could see small cuts.
As for COVID relief funds, Superintendent Craig Mueller says they are in line to receive over $7 million in ESSER funds.
No action was taken during the planning meeting, and there will continue to be extensive discussions about the budget and relief funds before any decisions are made.
