HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A rock and roll fundraiser is set for next weekend in Havre.
The first ever Beaver Creek Jam will be taking place July 9th and 10th at the Great Northern Fairgrounds.
Promoter Ken Erickson says the headliner on Friday night will be the world-famous band Warrant, which is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the hit song ‘Cherry Pie.’
“The reputation that Warrant has, and to get in on their 30th anniversary tour, their next stop (after Havre) is in Reno. So we’re a little city with a big city show.”
This event, which also features a cornhole tournament and a scavenger hunt, is a fundraiser for the proposed Veteran’s Memorial Campground at Beaver Creek Park. The campground will need a bridge that crosses Beaver Creek, which is expected to be a costly endeavor.
Overnight camping will be available, and Havre Ford will be providing free rides home.
If all goes well, Erickson says this could become a recurring event.
“If it goes over well and all is good, we might do it again. I mean, if we want to get this bridge built, we need more than what we can raise at this fundraiser. So we’d like to do it again.”
