HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre Festival Days returns next month, and the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce is continuing with preparations for the celebration.
Chamber Executive Director Julea Robbins says the festival will be back to normal after being scaled back last year due to COVID precautions. She adds that this year’s theme is “Havre Has Grit.”
“It’s kind of a play off of ‘Havre Has It,’ which has been a longstanding slogan of ours. We just wanted to play on the last year and how tough it has been, and also how hard it can be to live up here, and the strength, hard work, and perseverance that it takes to make Havre your home and build a business here. We just want to celebrate the people that have worked so hard to make our community amazing.”
Among the events scheduled are a Market/Vendor Show at Town Square, a Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, the first annual Hi-Line Games organized by MSU-Nothern, the Hi-Line Quilt Guild Show, a burger feed with live music, the Steve Heil Memorial Car Show, the KNMC Rock Lotto, a special run of trains at the Railroad Museum, a showing of Mamma Mia from the Montana Actors Theatre, and the 48 hour softball tournament.
“Planning has gone great so far. We’ve still been working with the Health Department to make sure that we are keeping people as safe as possible while still being able to have a good time and bring back Festival Days. But I have been very impressed with how many events are still happening coming up this year. Events that are both coming back and new events. So it’s been really fun to see the community come back out and getting ready for this event.”
After being canceled last year, the annual Festival Days Parade will be back. The Parade is set for 10 AM on Saturday, September 18, and will begin at 5th Avenue.
The Chamber is seeking nominations for the Grand Marshal, and you can contact the Chamber with your vote.
Festival Days is scheduled to take place from September 17th-19th.
If your club or organization is planning an event during the weekend of Festival Days and would like it noted on the event flyer, contact the Chamber at 265-4383.
