KALISPELL, Mont. (NMB) – The Flathead Beacon reports that 27-year-old Matthew David Hurley of Kalispell died after shots were fired Thursday morning in a parking lot outside a fitness center on US 2.
When officials responded to the scene just before 11 AM, they found three people with gunshot wounds, including one man who had died. The other two men were transported to a local hospital.
The Assistant Manager of Fuel Fitness told the Beacon that the man killed was the Manager of the center. The victim had apparently confronted the suspect after being told he could no longer live in his car in the parking lot.
An exchange of fire followed, including from the man being evicted and a witness.
The initial gunman is in critical condition and is under law enforcement supervision.
