E.L.F. Food Drive Brings in Over 4,400 Pounds of Food

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Last week’s Everyone Loves a Firefighter (E.L.F.) Food Drive in Havre was a major success, according to organizers.

Cody McLain, Vice President of the 601 Firefighters Union, says they received over 4,400 pounds of food donations for the Havre Food Bank.

“It blows away last year’s first COVID food drive, we doubled that. And then it did a little bit below a normal year, but still the way that we did it this year, with the (non-contact) door-to-door having people ready, it exceeded our goals. So we’re happy with that count and looking forward to making it better and getting a little bit more food in the years to come.”

McLain says although this drive may be over, donations to the Food Bank are always accepted.

“(People) can drop off any donation at HRDC, the Havre Food Bank, and we will accept them at the Fire Department too, we’ll get them over the right way if that works best for people.”

McLain says the firefighters would like to thank the community for the support as well as the City of Havre, which allowed them to use the fire apparatus and other equipment.

The drive also brought in $194 in monetary donations. These will be matched by Town Pump.
