GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – Fires reported on Wednesday in the Browning, Great Falls and Denton areas prompted evacuation orders and a partial shutdown of US 2.
The fire in Great Falls is in the Gibson Flats area and was first reported at 2:41 AM. Numerous structures have been destroyed but as of now, no serious injuries or loss of life has been reported.
At least one fire in the Browning area has shut down a portion of US 2 near Blackfoot and forced some local residents to evacuate.
And just before midnight Wednesday morning, a wildfire was reported in Fergus County along Montana Highway 80 between Stanford and Denton. Evacuation order were issued on Wednesday.
