HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Community Foundation has announced the awarding of a total of $5,800 in grants from the Blaine County Community Foundation Fund for the benefit of the residents of Blaine County.
The Chinook Rod and Gun Club was awarded $1,700 for Clubhouse updates including a new porch roof and generator.
Sweet Memorial Nursing Home was awarded $1,700 for holiday decorations.
The P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter was awarded $1,700 to provide year-round spay/neuter assistance to Blaine County residents.
“We are so, so pleased to be chosen for that grant,” says P.A.W.S. Manager Alissa Hewitt. “We are 100 percent donation and grant based … So every penny that comes in goes straight to the care of the dogs, the buildings, the light bill, every expense that we have. So when we’re awarded grants for our spay/neuter processes, it really lets us use every dollar that comes in for really important things like the care of the dogs. So this grant is going straight towards our annual, year-round spay/neuter assistance program that we hold all year.”
And the Blaine County Museum was awarded $700 to support the digitization of the Chinook Opinion newspaper, as well as for general support.
