Havre, MT – For Montana State University-Northern Lights football in 2025, the offense was a struggle.
The Lights produced just over 11 points per game and were at the bottom of the Frontier Conference in yards per game (215.4).
Entering 2026 under a new offensive coordinator and almost entirely new quarterback room, returning Lights wide receiver Isaiah Woodley spoke to what excites him the most about the upcoming season.
“Just the quarterbacks man. We got a great quarterback room from first quarterback to fourth quarterback, no matter who is going to go out there and play we got a great quarterback. No matter who they put out on the field they’re going to execute.” Woodly stated after three days of fall camp.
“So that’s what excites me especially with limited opportunities last year, but you take what you get. However many opportunities you get you try to do whatever you can, and you hope and you grind to get some more. I’m excited about our quarterback room, and they’re very intelligent as well.”
The four quarterbacks battling for the starting job is Sophomore returner who ended last season as the starter, Ethan Maroni, transfer Malakhi Statler out of Bakersfield College, and freshmen Griffen Terry, and Kirk Simoni (Si-mow-nee).
