The City of Havre continues planning on upgrades to the current water system. Public Works Director Trevor Mork explains what the City of Havre is doing to try and receive funding for this project.
“As we move into phase 2 of our Havre Water Project series, we’re seeking funding from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Water and Environmental program. What that is, it is a low interest long term loan in a matching grant program that goes toward fixing and building up infrastructures such as drinking water systems in rural communities.”
This USDA Rural Development program is a competitive grant and loan program. The City of Havre is asking for letters of support for their residents for this grant and loan funding. You can submit a letter of support via postal mail, dropping your letter off at city hall, or by sending via e-mail to the public works department.
