CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – The filing period for the 2022 Elections has been open for over a week, and Blaine County has already seen more than a half dozen candidates enter races for various offices.
The only contested race so far is for District 2 Blaine County Commission, where Republican incumbent Frank DePriest is facing a primary challenge from both Charles E. Baird and Kevin Mellville.
For Clerk & Recorder/Assessor, incumbent Tammy Williams has announced that she will not be running for another term after serving the County for more than three decades. Deputy Clerk and Recorder Pauly B. Miller has filed as a Republican to fill the position.
All other filings so far have been incumbents: Sheriff/Coroner John Colby (D), Tori MacLean DesRosier (D) for Treasurer, Kelsie Whitney Harwood for County Attorney (D), and Justice of the Peace Perry W. Miller (Non-Partisan).
There have been no candidates yet to enter the race for Superintendent of Schools.
The nomination deadline is 5 PM on March 14th.
Primary election day is June 7th, and the General Election will take place on November 8th.
