HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre City council convened Monday night for their monthly scheduled meeting to discuss agenda items.
After the meeting, the Council held a public hearing on a proposed (6) block rezoning.
The potential rezoning would change 14th to 16th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue from residential to commercial use. The majority of those who provided public comment supported the change, including Jim Treperinas, who owns some of the property on 5th Avenue and wants the Havre Food Bank moved to the area.
One member of the public expressed concerns about possible changing traffic patterns on 6th Avenue.
The City council is expected to vote on the matter at their March meeting
During the meeting, the Council announced that newly elected Ward 1 Alderman Kimberly Bolta is moving out of the ward. The process to appoint a replacement is beginning.
