CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – With less than 10 days to go until the filing period for the 2022 elections comes to an end, the races in Blaine County are starting to take shape.
There are currently three Republican candidates in the race for District 2 County Commissioner. They are incumbent Frank DePriest and challengers Kevin Mellville and Shane Fox. Charles E. Baird previously filed but has since withdrawn.
There is also one Democrat in the Commission race, as Todd A. Jorgenson filed earlier this week.
For Clerk & Recorder/Assessor, incumbent Tammy Williams has announced that she will not be running for another term after serving the County for more than three decades. Deputy Clerk and Recorder Pauly B. Miller has filed as a Republican to fill the position.
All other filings so far have been incumbents. They are:
- Sheriff/Coroner (D – John Colby),
- Treasurer (D – Tori MacLean DesRosier) for Treasurer
- County Attorney (D – Kelsie Whitney Harwood)
- Justice of the Peace (Non-Partisan – Perry W. Miller)
- Superintendent of Schools (R – Valerie White)
The nomination deadline is 5 PM on March 14th.
Primary election day is June 7th, and the General Election will take place on November 8th.
