UPDATE: The Havre Blue Ponies claimed the Northeast A Divisional Softball title on Wednesday in Miles City, taking down the Fergus Golden Eagles, 4-0.
Elle Verploegen pitched a five-hit shutout, and Alyssa Oliver had two doubles and drove in a run.
Havre will be the No. 1 seed out of the Northeast for the Class A State Tournament in Hamilton May 26-28.
The Havre Blue Ponies softball team kicked off their postseason on Tuesday with a matinee against the Miles City Cowgirls in the Northeast A Divisional.
The Blue Ponies took down Miles City by a score of 7-3. Havre scored three runs in the first inning and remained in control throughout.
Elle Verploegen recorded nine strikeouts in the win.
The Ponies will take on Lewistown in the Divisional title game at 3 PM on Wednesday.
