A Fort Benton sophomore is now a state golf champion.
Longhorn Casha Corder dominated the competition this week at the Girls State C Tournament at Sidney Country Club, winning the tournament by seven-strokes in less-than-ideal conditions.
Corder came into round two with a four-stroke lead, and posted a score of 92 in brutal wind on Wednesday, and an overall score of 174, to earn a championship.
Corder made a big leap in her game from her outstanding freshman year, where she finished eighth at the State Tournament in Bozeman.
