GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – The Great Falls Police Department says a report of a man armed with a gun outside of CMR High School on Wednesday morning led to a lockdown that lasted several hours.
Students were released one class at a time late Wednesday morning, and classes and activities were canceled for the rest of the day.
The report of an armed person at the bus loop was provided to a school resource officer at around 8 AM, at which point numerous law enforcement agencies arrived at the school and conducted a thorough search.
As of late Wednesday morning, no firearms had been located and the initial reports of the armed man had not been substantiated.
Shelter in place orders were lifted for all other schools late Wednesday morning, and classes resumed their normal schedules.
