PHILLIPS COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – Montana’s longest continuous running fair returns for its 107th go-round this Thursday through Sunday in Dodson.
Phillips County Fair Board Member Shane Anderson says this year’s celebration is packed with entertainment, including a concert on Friday headlined by Ian Munsick, with Counting Coup serving as the opener.
“With Ian Munsick, since we announced this concert last winter, in January, we’ve had huge interest. He’s become very popular, has a huge following. I know he was in Billings and did a show in January that sold out. And the day after that show, we got a ton of ticket sales out of Billings. We’re seeing ticket sales from all over the state. So we’re expecting a huge crowd. We’re kind of hoping it’ll be similar to what we had with our 100th Fair back in 2015 when we had Clay Walker, I think we almost had 2,000 people at that concert.”
Unfortunately, the Fair’s grandstands have been damaged due to a spring wind storm, but thankfully, they have arranged for temporary seating.
“We’re doing all that we can to kind of make it all work this year, and hopefully it will.”
