(NMB) VFW Post #12112 in Belgrade will host the 9th Annual Veterans Memorial Softball Classic this Friday and Saturday August 5th and 6th. The tournament features the State’s best High School Softball players in all classes while honoring Veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our Country. 5 teams representing each branch of the Military will compete in the two day event. Blue Pony softball players Avery Carlson, Molly Huse and Liz Haney earned spots in the tournament. Carlson will be on Team Navy, Huse will be on the Coast Guard team while Haney is on the Marines roster. The other two teams are Army and Air Force. The two day schedule will include 10 games. Also included in the schedule is a special skills competition including a home run derby and Base running contest, which Carlson won at last year’s event. All games will be played at the Belgrade High School Softball Complex.
