There is a problem in rural communities, but Co-ops like the one opening soon in Havre may have the solution.
According to Zach Ducheneaux the FSA Administrator “we have an exodus from our rural communities,” and the age of food producers is continuing to climb.
But he believes Co-ops like the Montana Premium Processing Co-op opening soon in Havre can offer a solution.
“If we have more businesses of this nature in some of these rural communities, we’re going to stimulate that economy and there is going to be a reason for folks to stay or come back home and do agriculture.“-Zach Ducheneaux FSA Administrator
