Helena, MT – A political divide is evident within Montana government.
Representative Matt Rosendale of Montana recently voted no along with 20 other members of the House on a bill to award congressional gold medals to four Capitol Police officers for their protection of The Capital during the insurrection on January 6th, 2021.
Contrastingly Sheila Hogan, the executive director of the Montana Democratic Party said, “the brave men and women who defended our nation’s Capital and our democracy deserve our enduring gratitude.”
The bill to award the officers passed and when the officers received their award, they all refused to shake hands with Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy the Republican leaders of the Senate and House.
