The MSU-Northern basketball teams traveled to Carroll College Saturday evening.
The Skylights fell (40-71) in game one of the double header. Savannah Toms lead the Skylights with 16 points on 64% shooting from the field. No other Skylight was able to hit the double-digit mark. With the loss the Skylights fall to 7-12 on the season and are on a four-game losing streak.
The Lights were able to bounce back from a three-game losing streak of their own, coming away with a (69-59) victory on the road. CJ Nelson scored a game-high 22 points including going 4-6 from 3-point range. Jessee Keltner (12pts; 2blks) and Dae’Kwon Watson (14pts; 2stls) were key contributors in the Lights victory. Coach Huse and the Lights improve to 13-6 on the season.
Both teams will be back in action Thursday January 19th, when they travel to Providence.
