There are new services being offered through the Chemical Dependency Center on the Fort Belknap Reservation. Irma Skunkcap the program Manager for the Chemical Dependency Center explains the new services.
“We have a great behavioral health program now. We have three therapist that provide the services. We just refer them to the therapist when they need them, then they’ll work with them. The therapist will also go into the schools too, and work with the children there if they need it. There’s the Harlem school, Hays, Lodgepole, and Dodson.”– Irma Skunkcap
She continues to explain how the new behavioral health services came to be.
“Well, there was the need, and I just was overwhelmed there just was not enough therapist there to cover all of the hundreds of people that need behavioral health evaluations, and also therapy, and so the tribal program came up with the integrated behavioral health. So now we have therapist that can cover all that for clients when they need it.” -Irma Skunkcap
