HRDC in Havre may have a partial solution to Montana’s labor shortage.
According to opendatanetwork.com approximately seven percent of Montanans didn’t graduate high school in 2018. Often jobs have a high school diploma or equivalent requirement for employment.
Tricia Williamsferry the Director of Adult Education in Havre is hosting adult education courses, allowing individuals to earn their GED or High SET later in life, potentially reducing the labor shortage.

“That is a big point of the whole thing is to get people into employment and then into even better employment. Sometimes you can get hired in jobs but then you can’t advance, or you can’t get a raise until you have your High Set or maybe you’ve worked on your math skills and got them up to snuff or maybe your writing skills aren’t so great and you’re going to have to write reports if you want to move into that next position.” –Tricia Williamsferry
