Neel Kashkari, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis will speak at MSU Tuesday, April 11 at the Strand Union Building.
The event will be a town hall format, with Kashkari taking questions from the public from 5:30 to 6:30pm. The event is free, and open to the public.
Along with his work in the private sector, Kashkari worked in the Treasury Department from 2006 to 2009, including overseeing the Troubled Assets Relief Program during the financial crisis in 2008, and has run the Minneapolis Federal Reserve since 2016. Kashkari stated that visiting communities in the Ninth District allows him to hear from local leaders and workers, to help guide monetary policy.
The Minneapolis Fed covers the Ninth District, encompassing Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, northwestern Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
