The Big Sky Conference including the University of Montana has had a busy week in the sports world.
The Grizzlies Golf Team is currently tied for 19th place in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. The Grizzlies shot a team round score of 312 in the first round with a score of 327 in the 2nd. The tournament concludes today.
The Montana Softball Team lost 9-1 in six innings against No. 18 Oregon on Monday afternoon at Jane Sanders Stadium in Eugene, Oregon concluding their 4-game road trip. The Grizzlies will return to Big Sky Conference play this week when it hosts Sacramento State in a three-game series at Grizzly Softball Field on Friday and Saturday.
Montana placed 77 student-athletes on the Academic All-Big Sky Conference teams for fall sports, announced on Tuesday. The Grizzlies were represented by 43 football players, 16 soccer players, 8 volleyball players, and 6 women & 4 men from the cross-country teams. Montana’s total of 77 tied for second in the Big Sky Conference, just one off the league high.
