(NMB) Montana State University Northern will hold their 2023 commencement ceremonies this Saturday. There are 285 students eligible to Graduate with their degree. This year’s Commencement speaker is MAT Theatre Executive Director Jay Pyette. Pyette graduated From MSU Northern in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in Broadfield English with a theatre minor and then attended the University of Oregon earning his Master’s degree in Theatre Arts. When asked how he felt about being this year’s commencement speaker Pyette said…Surprised.
“Surprised I mean, really, was my initial reaction and then, you know, humbled. It’s an honor. I’m excited about it, nervous of course, because it’s a little bit different than theatre. But, I think it’s going to be great.“-Pyette
And what about the message Pyette will send to this year’s graduating Class
“You know, I think back over the past thirty years, my life has been intertwined with Northern for pretty much all of it. I talk about some of what I took from my experiences there and hope they can do much of the same. Talk about choices they can make in their lives and how that can affect their future. Hopefully get a little humor in there and make it a little more personal.“-Pyette
MSU Northern’s graduation Ceremony is this Saturday May 6th beginning at 10am in The Armory gymnasium.
