The Havre Softball Team hosted Sidney in a double header Saturday in what was the Blue Pony’s Senior Day. Havre continued on what has been an at times a dominant season, defeated Sidney (18-0) in both matchups.
In game one Havre jumped out to an (11-0) lead in the first inning. The Blue Ponies did not stop there, outscoring Sidney (7-0) in the second inning to earn their (18-0) lead that ended up being the final score. Avery Carlson earned 3 RBIs on two hits, Lizzi Haney also earned 3 RBIs to go along with 2 hits, and Molly Huse had 2 RBIs in the shutout victory.
In game two, Rachel Jette had a sensational pitching performance for the Blue Ponies, throwing a no-hitter. Lizzi Haney earned 4 driving runs going 2-4 at the plate. Havre scored 11 runs in the 2nd inning to go up (15-0) and never looked back. Rachel Jette in the no hitter, had four strikeouts with one walk in three innings.
The back-to-back shutout victories improved Havre’s record to 13-2 on the year. Congratulations to all the senior blue ponies on their great performance.
