Bear Paw Ski Bowl Closes for 2019 Season

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Snow is melting across Montana, which means the end of the season for skiers and snowboarders at Bear Paw Ski Bowl south of Havre. President of the Snowdance Ski Association Claire Stoner says they had a great season and their new ski rental shop brought out many new skiers.

“We had a great season. Other than the really cold weather that prevented us from opening a few weekends, the ski season was really good. We had really good snow. We had good numbers on the weekends we were open. Our rental shop was a great success.”

Stoner says that the proceeds they raised from their Winter Brew Fest will go toward improvements on the Hill.

“We’re planning to put in a new rope tow and upgrade our electrical system, so that’s going to be a big project and we really need a lot of, um, people to help us with that, some labor. And we have a lot of building maintenance to do.”

Stoner says they will need volunteers to help clean up the ski hill this weekend and to help with some upcoming projects this summer.
