(NMB) Dave Martens Sr. of Havre was recently recognized by the National Ski Patrol for his 50 years of service. The mission of the National Ski Patrol is, “To promote safety and service in
outdoor recreation by educating, training, and supporting dedicated patrollers who assist those enjoying mountains, trails, and slopes.” Dave has patrolled at the Bear Paw Ski Hill for all 50 of t
hose years. For nearly all those years he has served as the Hill manager, a combination rarely seen in the skiing world. Without Dave’s commitment and dedication to the hill and the ski patrol,
local enthusiasts would not have had a local downhill skiing option.
