The Chinook Sugarbeeter football squad made a trip to Belt Friday night, where the defending State Champion Huskies continued to be a difficult force to reckon with.
It was all Belt as they pushed the ball into the end zone five times before the midway point of the second quarter, moving up 35-0 and implementing a running clock for the remainder of the game. The Huskies would rack up three more touchdowns before the break, to hold a 48-0 halftime lead.
The second half saw Belt hold the momentum with another touchdown with two point conversion, while staving off Chinook and locking in the score at 56-0 until the game’s end.
The Beeters came out 2-3 in conference play and 3-4 for their season. The loss made Friday night Chinook’s final game of the season, as they are off for the final scheduled date for North 8 Man football. Belt, Fort Benton and Shelby sit in top three seeds from the North, and are looking to start playoff action Saturday, October 28th. A loss for any of those teams after next week will not drop any of their standings below number three.
