(Havre) The Montana Farmers Union is offering a meat science scholarship available exclusively at MSU Northern, which will give two students a payment equal to half their tuition.
New Media Broadcasters spoke with Matt Rains, Chief of Staff at MFU, to get some details on why they want to offer this type of scholarship
“The biggest downfall for Montana Producers is being able to find quality local meat processors. It’s not just the ability to actually cut up an animal, we’re trying to have a meat science curriculum that goes way beyond that, which will teach ag classes, business classes, and so an individual that received a degree from MSU Northern would be able to go back to their communities and build a business and that, at the end of the day, is to help support our Montana producers by providing local, high quality processing facilities for their own livestock”
