(Helena) Two non-for-profits are filing suit to challenge Montana’s House Bill 393, which they say violates Montana’s State Constitution.
House Bill 393 provides, among other things, a system of education savings accounts that parents can sign up for. These savings accounts are meant to reimburse parents when they get special education services outside of Montana’s school system.
The two plantiffs, Montana Quality Education Coalition and Disability Rights Montana, argue that this violates the states constitution in many ways, listing four in their suit filings.
The two requested that the court issue a judgment declaring HB 393 unconstitutional.
