(Billings) A student in the New Media Broadcasters listening area made the top five in the Montana Farm Bureau Foundation’s state-wide speech competition.
The contest was held April 5th during the 2024 FFA State Convention at the First Interstate Arena in Billings, and achieving fourth place was Chelise Stone of the Geraldine FFA chapter.
The Speech Contest was open to students in the 7th, 8th and 9th grades and needed to be between 2.5 and 4 minutes in length.
The topic this year was the question; “is agriculture or tourism really Montana’s cash crop?”
Cash prizes were awarded from 1st to 5th place, totaling 1 thousand dollars.
