(Crow Agency) A Crow Agency man accused of punching a woman in the face admitted to an assault charge, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said.
The defendant, Darek Paul Birdinground, 33, pleaded guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury as charged in an indictment. Birdinground faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters presided. The court will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
Sentencing was set for August 14th. Birdinground was detained pending further proceedings.
